My understanding is that the gov't has spent money on rebuilding... They rebuilt the superdome, replaced the carpets, fixed the damaged elite boxes and so forth. This is what initially angered me on the anniversary. It angers me that the managers of the superdome set up conditions due to previous experience that deepened the contradictions. For example, why did they refuse to allow the toilets to be hooked into the emergency generator (there was running water for 4 days after the hurricane, however the toilets stopped working when the hurricane hit)? Why were the lights in the washrooms not hooked up to the generator? I am sure that the rape of the little girl in the bathroom would not have occured if the bathrooms had lights and if they hadn't been the foul overflowing cesspool that they were, A haven for crackheads... where angels feared to tread. Are the Superdome Management responsible for that girls assault? Should they have been rewarded for exacerbating the situation? I do not know how they sleep at night! Accepting gov't funds for the rebuilding of a symbol of NOLA.
